To broaden the scientific research thoughts, master the frontier of big data breeding technology, build a better management platform for crop molecular breeding, Institute of Cereal and Oil Crops held an academic exchange through over 30 scientists in the institute and breeding experts from Huazhi Biotechnology Co., Ltd.

Dr. Jia Gaofeng from Huazhi Biotechnology made a report on “Intellectual breeding: Cross the gap of genotype to phenotype”, focused on topics such as intellectual breeding, genome selection techniques, pan-omics data analysis method, phenotypic measurements and big data. Application of modern molecular breeding techniques also expressed in the report. Dr. Yu Peiyi from Huazhi introduced breeding big data center of the company, provided detailed information on data collection and analysis platform. Scientists had discussion on genome selection technique, breeding data preservation and analysis, both sides had in-depth exchanges on the auxiliary means of modern genetic breeding research.
