Hebei Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences, founded in 1958, is a comprehensive agricultural research institution directly under the Hebei Provincial People's Government.       Since the Twelfth Five-Year Plan, 133 scientific and technological awards have been awarded at or above the provincial and ministerial levels, 253 new crop varieties have been approved (registered), 257 standards have been approved, 508 patents and varieties have been granted, and 313 SCI papers have been published. In 93 cities and counties of the province, 28 professional demonstration bases and 321 science and technology demonstration sites have been established. A "Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Agricultural Science and Technology Innovation Alliance" was set up with several scientific research institutes, universities and agricultural enterprises in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei. Five collaborative innovation teams, three collaborative innovation platforms and six science and technology demonstration bases were formed.
