To promote the practical cooperation with Romania in the field of oil sunflower’s research, the video agreement sighing ceremony was successfully held on March 23rd between HAAFS and National Agricultural Research and Development Institute Fundulea. Vice-president SUN Shigang attended the ceremony and gave the speech. Dr. Ing. Elena Petcu, the scientific director of the Fundulea Institute, Ec. Gabriela Barbu, the economic director of the insitute and Dr. ing. Maria Joita-Pacureanu from sunflower department attended the ceremony. The science and technology counselor, Mr. JIANG Sudong, from the Chinese Embassy in Romonia also attended the ceremony. The signing ceremony was presided over by Director ZHANG Meishen from International Cooperation Department of HAAFS.

Vice-president SUN introduced the oil sunflower’s planting situation of China and Hebei Province, as well as the research on oil sunflower breeding by HAAFS. He pointed out that both sides should complement each other’s advantages and enhance collaborative research by set up expert group. Dr. Petcu listed the cooperation of the Fundulea Institute with China and Hebei Province in oil sunflower research in the past 20 years, especially the cooperation in oil sunflower breeding, production and promotion. Mr. JIANG alos made positive comments on bilateral cooperation.

Whereafter, the two sides signed an agreement on scientific and technical cooperation, announced the formation of the collaborative research team, and agreed to conduct academic exchange. This video signing will further promote the mutual benefit of both sides.
