China's agriculture is moving towards green and high-quality development. For a long time, the isolation of crop planting and animal husbandry has become a key problem hindering the green development of agriculture in the mixed area of crop planting and animal husbandry. On one hand, the livestock and poultry waste causes serious pollution to the rural environment, resulting in a large loss of nutrients and leading to non-point pollution source. On the other hand, the crop planting relies on a large amount of chemical fertilizer to maintain high yield, and the crop straw is directly incorporated into soil leading to the recurrence of crop diseases and pests and the decline of product quality. Therefore, in the future, with the concept of circular development, to combine crop planting and livestock production and to promote animal husbandry by crop production to develop integrated green development will be an important way to promote the high-quality and efficient agriculture for the mixed area of crop planting and animal husbandry.
The Cereal and Oil-crop Institute, Hebei Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences, has long been engaged in research and development for high yield and high quality crop production. Research awards in efficient utilization of farmland resources, integrated green production, etc, have been achieved.
We cordially welcome collaborators from oversea countries in our research. The project is mainly aimed at small and medium-sized farmers in the mixed area of crop planting and animal husbandry, to develop high yield, high efficiency, and safe production techniques of crop, crop straw forage utilization technique, and harmless treatment and efficient utilization technique of livestock and poultry waste.
