Soil quality improvement and remediation is an important issue in agriculture. Using microorganisms to repair soil and maintain soil health is the safest and most environmentally friendly way. The core of soil bio-remediation technology is the screening, evaluation, application and industrialization of functional microorganisms. At present, the bottleneck restricting the industrialization of soil bio remediation is that the interaction mechanism of functional microorganisms is not clear. Therefore, it is necessary to study the micro-ecological mechanism of interaction between microorganisms and plant. The research results in microbiological mechanism of microorganism and plant interaction can greatly improve the screening, industrialization and the development of soil bio-remediation functional strains, and the establishment of soil ecological security evaluation system.
The Institute of Agricultural Resources and Environment, Hebei Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences, has been devoted to research on soil bio-remediation and the interaction mechanism between host and microorganisms. A variety of microbial agents and supporting technologies for facility vegetables, orchard and saline and alkaline soil improvement have been developed, and many functional strains that are friendly and compatible with plant roots and have the function of beneficial flora recruitment have been found. Streptomyces and Bacillus microbial fertilizers developed have been industrialized and popularized to the whole country.
We warmly welcome collaborator and scientists from the world to join our research project, with the aim to study the interaction between microorganisms and plants using the established model, to tap in depth the omics data, and to set up the verification system and database of functional strains and microorganisms.
