In order to build a platform for cooperation and exchange in breeding and production of oil crops, and promote the implementation of national “Belt and Road Initiative”, an online exchange meeting between oil crop experts from HAAFS and Ayub Agricultural Research Institute, Faisalabad, Pakistan(AARI) was held on April 21. Staff from CMEC, International Cooperation Division of HAAFS, experts from Institute of Cereal and Oil Crops and Institute of Cotton attended the meeting.
At the meeting, experts from Pakistan introduced the overview of AARI, the research progress and achievements of major oil crops, and the difficult issues they face. Zhang Meishen, director of International Cooperation Division, introduced the general situation of HAAFS. Experts working in areas of soybean, sesame and sunfower gave a brief presentation on research progress and achievements respectively. Both sides showed great interest in cooperation in germplasm resources exchange and personnel training, and expressed strong desire for exchange visits after the end of the epidemic. The exchange meeting achieved the expected results.
