From November 13th to 15th, 2023, the Apple Innovation Team of Institute of Changli Fruit Research participated in the "Hebei Province Promotion of High Quality Development of Apple Industry Site Meeting and Mountain Apple Evaluation and Promotion Activity", showcasing and promoting five new mid to late maturity and high-quality disease-resistant apple varieties cultivated by the team, including “Yuguan”, “Yinghong”, “Pingyan”, “Changping 8”, and “Miguan”. “Yuguan” selected by the Xiangbao Fruit and Vegetable Farmers' Professional Cooperative in Shunping County won the "Apple King" and "Silver Award" respectively, while the “Yinghong” selected by the Kuancheng Difeng Family Farm won the "Gold Award".

“Yuguan” is a high-quality and multi resistant apple variety that is suitable for bagging free cultivation, developed through cross breeding between “Jinguan” and “Hongyu” as parents. It has beautiful appearance, excellent quality, strong disease resistance, wide adaptability, and stable yield. It passed the provincial review in 2019 and is currently being demonstrated and promoted in Baoding, Shijiazhuang, Chengde, and other places. “Yinghong” is a concentrated red variant single plant discovered from the 'Miyazaki Short Branch Fuji' apple orchard. Its coloring index and single fruit quality have significantly improved, resulting in high and stable yields; In 2021, it passed the provincial review and is currently promoting more than 10000 acres in Qinhuangdao, Tangshan, Chengde, and other places.
