Invited by Xinji Agricultural Broadcasting School and Xinji Yuexin Fruit and Vegetable Planting Professional Cooperative, on November 16th, Researcher YANG Lei and LI Li from Institute of Shijiazhuang Fruit Research went to Zhangguzhuang Village, Xinji City for 2023 high-quality farmer technical training and field technical guidance. In addition, field observation was conducted on the new protected strawberry variety 'Jijiu' selected by the Institute. 'Jijiu' has now started to mature and go on the market. At present, the village has planted over 2000 acres of strawberries, earning the nickname of "Strawberry Hometown". Strawberries have become a special industry in Zhangguzhuang Village and an important way for farmers to become rich.

Researcher YANG Lei conducted technical training on the topic of "Excellent Strawberry Varieties and Common Problems in Production". The content mainly included the current production status of strawberries in Hebei Province, new varieties of excellent strawberries, common problems during planting, problems with plant growth, premature aging and stubble breakage, problems with plant self sealing, abnormal fruit, and major diseases and pests. He also provided detailed explanations on the issues that strawberry farmers are most concerned about, such as plant disease resistance Serious issues with dead seedlings. At the same time, YANG recommended the new strawberry variety 'Jijiu' with advantages like disease resistance, high yield, and high quality, to strawberry farmers and led everyone to observe the field growth of the new strawberry variety 'Jijiu' on site.
