On July 31st, the field testing on the implementation effect of green prevention and control technology for Aromia bungii, using biological methods for the scientific and technological innovation project "Monitoring and Early Warning of Major Pests in Fruit Trees and Key Technology Innovation and Application of Green Prevention and Control", was held by Institute of Plant Protection of HAAFS. The expert team listened to Dr. Ran Hongfan's report on the basic situation of the project and conducted relevant data investigations on site.

After on-site investigation, the control effects of five measures, including using insect pathogenic nematodes, Beauveria bassiana, insect viruses, swollen legged wasps, and parasitic wasps, showed the indexes of 86.7%, 87.5%, 82.4%, 92.3%, and 94.7%, respectively. Experts affirmed the effectiveness of prevention and control, and put forward many valuable opinions and suggestions. Aromia bungii is difficult to prevent and control due to its hidden harmful parts. The peach planting area in Hebei Province is nearly 1 million mu, and half of the old orchards are threatened by the destructive pest aromia bungii, which has become a major problem that urgently needs to be solved for the development of the peach industry. The biological control technology integrated by plant protection institute for aromia bungii can effectively reduce the number of insect holes and alleviate the harm of beetle larvae, providing important technical support for efficient and green control of aromia bungii.
